Titchwell Road SW18
The client's brief was to extend and remodel this 1930's house on the ground floor and roof to accommodate new bedrooms and living-dining areas as well as a new kitchen. There were no existing period features and the property was in poor condition.
A strong concept was developed to create a modern interpretation. of the 1930's style. New windows, staircase and other features were designed to evoke the era. A continuous glass roof created a visual separation between the existing house and the new ground floor extension, allowing daylight to penetrate deep into the original rear rooms. The ground floor extension was designed as a 'glass pavillion' wrapped around the living-dining spaces to create a strong relationship between the interior and the large rear garden. A highly insulated overhanging roof was designed to shade the glazing.

The main roof space was converted into a large loft master bedroom with bathroom en-suite.and extensive glazing overlooking the garden. MR Design provided a full service from inception to completion on site.
